General RS Broadcast....

This Saturday I had the opportunity to have a break from the kids for a few hours. I was able to go to dinner to yummy Tokyo Joes with some friends and then headed off to the RS General Broadcast. It was such a great broadcast. I felt so enriched. I really enjoyed President Uchtorf's talk. I felt like he was specifically talking to me. He talked about how we as women can be so hard on ourselves. I know that is me to a "t". So often I do something and I will find one thing wrong with something that I did when the rest of what I did was just fine. I also liked what he said about talents. This is what he said..."For we all have talents and gifts, every one of us. The bounds of creativity extends far beyond the limits of a canvas or a sheet of paper and do not require a brush a pen or the keys of a piano. Creation means bringing into existence something that did not exist before; colorful gardens, harmonious homes, family memories, flowing laughter." I just love that because I have thought so much that I wish I had talents to "show", such as something I made. It was so enlightening to hear that my talents may lie somewhere else and maybe not even something that can be seen. I need to remember his quote when I get down about myself. So I just loved his talk. I am glad I went and I am so thankful for a wonderful husband who understands I need breaks sometimes and is so good to let me have them. I am grateful for friends who can take me away from normal life and just hang out and talk about things. Thanks girls!

Parker looks just like his daddy! What a cute one! You did good. I am glad for your post. As you know from my post I was deeply moved from this conference as well. Do I sense a little copy & paste action??? Its all good. I loved it! Good to hear from you. I am so glad that this whole blogging thing has kept us in touch better. You are one of my great friends from the Hinkley days and I am glad that you are still in my life, even if it is at a distance!
