*Logan said the other day when talking about the elevator, "Mom are we gonna get on the Alligator?"

*Many know that Jon got laid off a few months back and things have been hard ever since. I know others have been laid off as well and even before us and everyone survives, but it still makes it hard in the moment. Jon is now working for my dad at his auto shop-which has been a great experience for him and he is learning a lot and he does enjoy it. He is also remodeling my sister's bathroom, and does a paper route at 2 a.m. in the morning. I am so grateful to him for his hard work and it has made me love him even more. I am so glad he is willing to do those things. I have been touched as I hear of other's trials, and I find myself thinking that our trial could definately be worse. I remember before Jon lost his job, Logan was saying a prayer one day and in it he asked that "Heavenly Father would keep making food for us." We thought that was kind of weird for him to say it like that, but whatever. Then that next Monday Jon finds out he got laid off. Part of me thinks that Logan's little spirit might have known something we didn't. Now we have always had food and have never gone without. We have been touched by the service of others as sweet people have brought us dinners just out of the blue-one of which we received tonight (don't know who it was from). To those sweet people I am so thankful to them and their thoughfulness. I think with all the hard times going on in people's lives, it is so nice to see people reaching out to others. I slowly becoming grateful for our trial. I have seen the blessings of serving others. I hope this is a good lesson for me to not be so absorbed in my own life that I do not stop to think of others.

Very sweet post, Kim. Being thankful for your trials, especailly while you're still going through them, is one of the hardest things I think.

One of the things that I've learned through trials is to always realize what I'm learning from it. It's hard to be thankful when things seem so hard but you're doing a good job. Hang in there, you're in my prayers.

kylie surely will be an angel in her teenage years because she can't be a hard little girl as well as a teen! (I'm crossing my fingers for myself as well) =)

Bless his heart for all Jon has to do to provide for his family right now. Our prayers are with you.

My sister-in-law says (and all her kids are grown now) that when they are hard as toddlers they are much easier as teenagers. I really do hope she is right. Jacob and I have been at odds for the last little while. He is just so stubborn and HAS to do things his way on his time frame. Ofcourse every night when I go to bed I think, "man! he is just like ME."

logan's little prayer is so sweet. and how interesting that he had his little inspiration even before things happened. the teenager request would be on my list as well. let's hope our wishes come true! ;)

What sweet little spirits you have. And you ARE so blessed to be surrounded by such wonderful people. Way to keep that glass half full! Have I told you how fabulous you are lately?

But now I am laughing at your fav shows. Jeremy and I watch CSI Miami on a reg basis. We love to make fun of the actors on that show. I wish I could be with you laughing about this right now. But we will stand like Horatio (sideways, hands on hips) and look to the side with our shades on and ask obvious questions or leave the room with one liners! But I can't quite get my lips to look like blondie without an excessive amount of collagen. Its funny that the acting is so bad on that show, but we still watch it. I don't think it is meant to be a comedy! Hee Hee.

Thanks so much for sharing all of this. It is really inspiring how positive you are in spite of all you are going through. Sometimes I wish we could have a fast forward button- for our trials that is. =) You are definitely in my prayers.
