Logan starts Kindergarten!!

This week has been a bit busy. Logan started kindergarten on Tuesday. He sure loves it. It was a bit hard, but not as hard as I thought it would be to send him off to school. He was so excited and happy-that made me happy for him. He has 3 kids in his class that he knows from church, so that is nice!

One nice evening this week, we had nothing to do and Kylie decided we needed something to do. So....she jumped off the couch and landed pretty hard on a toy and cut her lip. Not sure if the toy cut her lip or if she bit into her lip. I am not one to go to the Dr. for every little thing, but the cut was so deep, I was a bit worried. Called the Dr and he said to bring her in for stitches as the lip is a hard place to heal correctly. Knowing Kylie's personality, I could see her 12 years from now wondering why we just didn't have her lips fixed so she would have nice plumpy lips. Jon was sweet to take Kylie to the ER. They were only there for 5 hours. Not bad huh? Yeah actually I felt bad for him. He does so much better with blood and that kind of stuff. He is so calm.
Jon said the nurses were so impressed with how calm Kylie was. They asked if all our children were like her-if only they knew she was not our calm one!

Anyways, it has been 4 days since it happened and it looks so good. She only got 2 stitches but I am glad they did it. Didn't get a picture when she first hurt it, but did get one after the stitches and the picture is not that great either.

Then that leaves us with Parker. He is getting more of a personality and wants what he wants. Still so sweet though. He started getting his first tooth this week too.

Garden....

This year we decided to do a garden. I am so glad we did. There is something so fulfilling about putting a seed in the ground and seeing something grow from that seed. It is not as hard as I thought it would be, so I think we will do one again next year too. It is not huge but it will do for this year. We planted snap beans, carrots, tomatoes, cucumbers, yellow squash, zucchini, and watermelon. Here are some pics.....The above is what the garden looked like when we planted it in May

One morning we woke up and saw a rabbit eating our garden, so Jonathan made this wonderful fence to go around the garden. The above 2 pictures are taken in July.

Fourth of July

This weekend was so relaxing. We went to the cabin with the family for 4th of July. Everyone was there except Robert and Gloria. The kids get along so well and have so much fun up there. We went on walks, went shopping, took naps and went fishing. Three of the bigger boys caught a fish and Logan was one of them. I think the fish was a foot and half long. He was so excited he caught one.

There were SO many people in town this weekend so instead of fighting the crowd with the kids, we went to this hill up the street from my parents cabin to watch the fireworks. They were great and the kids enjoyed it.

We are so grateful my parents share the cabin with us so we can make so many family memories.

We had a birthday party for Kylie and Logan with family and friends. It was so fun to have everyone over.

(The birthday girl)

Kylie's birthday was on the 27th. Two things she wanted to do, go swimming and get her ears pierced. We went swimming first and then went to dinner. We then took Kylie to get her ears pierced. She sat on my lap so perfectly until she got the first hole, then she had nothing to do with getting the other ear pierced. I felt bad, because Jon and I had to hold her pretty tightly so the lady could get the other ear. We finally got it and after the pain wore off, she was fine and happy about her ears.

We love Kylie and are so grateful to have her in our family. This happened just the other day and thought I would post it. So, Logan and Kylie were fighting because they wanted something, but they wanted it their way. Logan got really sad and started crying. The next thing I knew, Kylie was giving Logan a hug and telling him she would do it his way, just so he would not be sad anymore. She had this sweet little voice she used too, like she was talking to someone much younger than her. I thought that was so sweet of her-believe me she does not do that every time, but it is so refreshing to see your children have a sensitive side and think of others. So our Kylie is a very determined little one and definately has a mind of her own. She wants what she wants and thats it. She is sweet though and still always asks if we are happy. Today I got mad at her and she told me I hurt her feelings. She kept touching her stomach and I was thinkin she thought her stomach was her feelings, so I asked her where her feelings were, and she said, "I don't know Mom, where are my feelings?" Funny how kids think. She doesn't even know what she is saying. I won't feel bad anymore when she says I hurt her feelings:) Anyways we love her and are so thankful to have her in our family.

So we have been busy the past few weeks. My grandparents got us a membership to the zoo- which was so nice of them. We have been quite a few times so far. A couple weeks ago I went with two friends and their kids-Jamie and Melissa, who are in Primary with me. It was fun to do that with them especially since Jamie is moving to Arizona.
